内容提要
檢讨近年來醫學本科教育中的不足，學生的專業外語交流能力較差是缺憾之一。這種先天不足将影響學生今後直接從國際兒科學界汲取豐富學術營養的能力，關系到我國兒科學界将來能否跻身世界學術先進行列的前景。
根據國情妥善解決這個問題的辦法有賴于雙語教學的逐步推進，本教材編寫的目的正是為了順應此項任務的需要。
本教材是首次按中文版教材框架搭建英語内容，在“洋為中用”的過程中可能有疏漏或錯誤之處，希望能得到教師和學生的批評、指教，使我們能不斷獲得經驗并改進質量。
作者介紹
王衛平現任上海醫科大學兒科醫院院長,兒科研究所所長。1988年在上海醫科大學博士研究生畢業,1990年獲“優秀博士學位獲得者”的稱号,晉升為副教授,1993年晉升為教授。1990年被評為首批國家重點學科“兒科學”的學科帶頭人。1993年獲“全國首屆百名中青年醫學科技之星”稱号。同年,參加了“第一屆上海市出國留學人員成果展覽”。
