《Thriller》 是世界上有史以來單張銷量最高的唱片，于1982年11月30日發行，是傑克遜的第六個獨唱專輯，它在美國十大歌曲排行榜中連續80周蟬聯冠軍，連續兩年(1983年和1984年)成為美國最暢銷的唱片專輯。美國唱片工業協會認證它的銷量是鉑金唱片的27倍，[1]它在1985年被宣布是有史以來最暢銷的專輯，傑克遜當年赢得了八項格萊美獎，其中七項獎項與他創作這個專輯的工作有關。
Legacy公司曾于2001年在Michael Jackson發行《Invincible》專輯時發行了全新制作的《Thriller》特别版，傑克遜在這之後就沒有發行過全新的個人專輯（精選等除外）。這張精選集也成為一代流行天王2009年6月25日在美國加州溘然長逝後留下的最後一部作品。[2]

在年終最暢銷流行老專輯榜上，《顫栗》25周年紀念專輯奪得冠軍，此外，在前10名中，傑克遜的冠軍精選《獨一無二》（Number Ones）也名列年終最暢銷流行老專輯榜的第10名。而在年終最暢銷R&B老專輯榜上，《顫栗25》也奪得冠軍，《獨一無二》拿下第四名。

日本發行
日本版單曲套裝
日本索尼于2月20日發行25周年紀念版裡，特别為日本歌迷收錄一首從來沒有曝光過的新曲目《Got The Hots》。這首曲目是當年《Thriller》時期錄制的，本計劃收錄在2001年的特别版裡，但後來取消。因此，該曲就從來沒有在之前公開發行過，也沒有被任何人洩露過。對歌迷來說，是一首全新的單曲。至于為什麼隻有日本版的《Thriller》收錄這首單曲，這是由于日本版比世界上其它地區的版本都要昂貴。唱片公司為了讓日本歌迷不去其它地區購買相對便宜的版本，所以隻好加入新曲目來吸引日本歌迷購買。之前傑克遜的《終極收藏》等專輯的日本版，都加了不少歌曲。此外，這也可以理解為Michael為了感謝日本歌迷的忠誠而做出的特别舉動，畢竟，Michael僅在日本的唱片總銷量就高達一億張。

《For All Time》至少已經在網上洩露了一年，甚至兩年了。這個版本沒有太大的不同，但是它還是有所不同。很明顯，它是被重新數碼加工了，使之有了更清新清楚的音效，并讓Michael的聲部比原來的那個洩露版更加突出。此外，它還有一個不同以往的過門，比那個版本有更多的演唱，所以很可能是來自另外一次錄音。如果你早已愛上這首歌，那麼你也會愛上這個版本。在這裡，聲音更加豐滿更加完整，但是依然大緻相差不遠。
