劇情介紹
故事發生在16世紀。丹妮爾（德魯·巴裡摩爾Drew Barrymore飾）從小和父親相依為命，但父親迎娶繼母羅米拉（安傑麗卡·休斯頓Anjelica Huston飾）後，很快出意外身亡，丹妮爾成了灰姑娘，但依舊堅強獨立、熱愛生活。機緣巧合之下，丹妮爾與法國王子亨利（多格雷·斯科特 Dougray Scott飾）相遇，還從綠林大盜手中救了王子一命，兩人彼此傾心，王子更想為她拒絕家中安排的政治婚姻。但繼母得知這一切後，處心積慮想讓自己長女瑪格麗特（梅根·多茲Megan Dodds飾）嫁給王子，還謊稱丹妮爾隻是家中女仆。王子聽信了繼母謊言，憤怒地放棄了丹妮爾……
英文簡短劇情：With the sudden death of her loving father, Danielle is made a servant by her new stepmother. She also has two new stepsisters, one quite kind but the other one really horrid. Still, Danielle grows up to be a happy and strong-willed young lady, and one day her path crosses that of handsome Prince Henry, who has troubles of his own at home. Luckily the nice Leonardo da Vinci is on hand to help all round.

演員介紹
德魯·巴裡摩爾1975年生于洛杉矶有名的演藝世家，祖父、父親及叔叔皆是演員。她10個月時便參加廣告片拍攝，3歲稚齡便參與電影演出。1982年7歲時在《外星人》的純真模樣令人十分喜愛，并陸續在《舞台》、《勢如破竹》、《貓眼》中以童星姿态挑大梁演出。然而太快成名令她備感壓力，于青少年成長期染上酒瘾及毒瘾，演藝事業一度中斷。戒毒後她重回好萊塢，在1989年推出第一部青春期角色作品《離鄉恨》。其後她多半飾演叛逆、早熟，帶點風騷味的角色，和私底下的她頗為相似。
1994年曾與傑瑞米·托馬斯結婚，但僅維持不到兩個月便結束。直至1998年，終于以成熟和正面的角色在《婚禮歌手》中大放異彩，又接連以《灰姑娘》和《一吻定江山》在市場上大獲全勝，成為新一代女星的接班人。2000年主演的《霹靂天使》更是紅遍全球。2001年她出演了影片《與男孩同車》，該片入選當年奧斯卡獎不少提名。2004年她與亞當·桑德勒再次合作，出演了喜劇片《初戀50次》，在票房與口碑上都取得了不錯的成績。2007年春季檔她與休·格蘭特合作的浪漫愛情喜劇《K歌情人》依然維持着不錯的票房，再次證明了巴裡摩爾的号召力。
幕後制作
身兼導演及編劇，曾導演過《傻愛成真》的安迪·特南特，這次會以“灰姑娘”這個人人知曉的題材搬上銀幕的原因，其中是為了他的兩位千金，他說：“我要講述一個與衆不同的版本，不同于以往，為的是要讓我的兩位小女兒長大後不會有着刻闆的印象，以為隻要嫁一個有錢、有房子、有車子的男人，就會離幸福不遠了。”他不認為灰姑娘隻是卡通或神話故事，而是一個完全無法預測、充滿冒險與勇氣的真實故事。童星出身的德魯·巴裡摩爾在影片中擔任女主角，也是一大看點。
