與此同時，埃米納姆此時正為他的下一張專輯《Recovery》尋找不同的音樂，于是便試聽了這首歌曲的樣品。埃米納姆在聽了樣品後，便要求亞曆克斯男孩給他聽完整的歌曲。在聽完後，埃米納姆選擇錄制這首歌曲，并告訴他的音樂經紀人保羅·羅森伯格他想與蕾哈娜合作，因為他認為這首歌的其中幾段歌詞隻有她才能唱得出來。保羅·羅森伯格把消息告訴蕾哈娜後，蕾哈娜便答應了埃米納姆的請求，同意錄制這首歌。^[1]

雖說蕾哈娜的嗓音在歌曲開頭出現的形式較為傳統老套，卻多少将這首中闆歌曲推向了更為抒情化的層面，同時也讓這支嘻哈單曲加入了親切的成分。這首歌談論的是家庭暴力，歌曲中的兩人都想離開對方卻又離不開，迫于暴力，也迫于猶豫和縱容，就這樣一次一次受到傷害，直到毀滅。蕾哈娜的聲音有點陰郁，而埃米納姆的強烈說唱，使愛情的無奈和無力多了一份蒼勁和幹脆，與蕾哈娜柔和的聲音非常混搭，一氣呵成。^[3]

據導演約瑟夫·卡恩表示，這支MV是為片中男女進行演繹一個兩人之間具有聯系的特别故事而創作的。認真觀看後，就會發現這支MV其實不是關于特定的人，而是他創造出來的兩個人物（在一個故事中的）形象。^[2]
