早年經曆
理查德·德萊弗斯父親是紐約的律師，9歲時他們全家遷居至洛杉矶，在60年代後期至70年代初到處流浪尋找各種演出機會。
演藝經曆
理查德·德萊福斯
默默無聞的他早在1967年便出現在《畢業生》（The Graduate，1967）等片中，直至出演了1973年的《美國風情畫》（American Graffiti，1973）才嶄露頭角。1975年，他參演了史蒂芬·斯皮爾伯格（Steven Spielberg）導演、轟動一時的影片《大白鲨》（Jaws，1975），本人也跟着人氣急升，兩年後，他出演了斯皮爾伯格導演的另一部重要影片《第三類接觸》（Close Encounters of the Third Kind，1977）。同年，在《再見女郎》（The Goodbye Girl，1977）中的表演令他以黑馬姿态勇奪奧斯卡影帝寶座，躍登巨星之列。他在其後的20多年中繼續主演過多部影片，以《生命因你而動聽》（Mr. Holland's Opus，1995）再創表演事業的高潮。2018年12月7日，參演的電影《艾什》上映，在影片中飾演Avi。[1]
2022年6月24日，出演的電影《黃石鎮謀殺案》在美國上映。[3]
