人物經曆
1985年畢業于中國藥科大學，獲學士學位；
1988年至1989年在日本富山醫科藥科大學和漢藥研究所學習；
1990年7月在中國藥科大學獲得博士學位；
1990年9月進入北京醫科大學藥學院進行博士後研究；
1992年12月博士後出站後留校工作至今。
1993年被聘為副教授，1997年被聘為教授，1999年被評為博士生導師。
同時任第九屆國家藥典委員會中藥材飲片專業委員會主任委員，國家食品藥品監督管理局藥品審評委員，中國高科技産業化研究會理事，中國中醫藥研究促進會藥品管理與中藥知識産權專業委員會副主任委員，中國藥學會中藥與天然藥物專業委員會委員，北京市生物技術和新醫藥産業促進中心核心專家，國家标準樣品技術委員會天然産物标準樣品專業工作組專家。
《中國藥學》（英文版）、《中藥新藥與臨床藥理》雜志副主編，《藥學學報》、《中草藥》、《中國中藥雜志》、《中國天然藥物》、《中國藥科大學學報》、《實驗方劑學》、《中國現代中藥》、《醫藥經濟報》、《中國醫藥工業雜志》、《中國藥學雜志》等編委，中國藥科大學、沈陽藥科大學、北京中醫藥大學、黑龍江中醫藥大學、三峽大學、大連理工大學、内蒙古醫學院、西北大學、中國醫學科學院藥用植物研究所等客座教授。

研究成果
對肉苁蓉屬、遠志屬、鐵線蓮屬、大風子科藥用植物及中藥黃芪、紅花等40多種中藥和天然藥物及中藥複方“補陽還五湯”等進行了系統的活性成分研究，分離鑒定了1600多個化合物，其中新化合物400多個；發現肉苁蓉中所含的部分苯乙醇苷類成分具有明顯的抑制神經細胞凋亡、促進神經細胞生長作用，闡明其作用機理，并将其研制成為治療老年癡呆症的二類新藥；遠志皂苷具有明顯的抑制基因轉染的神經細胞Aβ的分泌，并闡明其作用機理；
廣西血竭中所含的黃酮類成分具有明顯的抑制血小闆聚集、抗血栓等作用，部分黃烷類成分具有明顯的抗真菌作用。對大黃、黃芪、紅花等20多種中藥及黃芪注射液等5種中藥注射劑進行了系統的質量标準包括指紋圖譜檢測标準的研究，建立了有效的質量控制方法。已研制一類新藥1項，五類新藥10多項，在研新藥多項。
研究成果獲得國家科技進步獎一等獎、三等獎各1項、教育部自然科學獎一等獎和科技進步獎一等獎各1項、國家中醫藥管理局科技進步獎一等獎2項、中華中醫藥學會李時珍醫藥創新獎1項、湖北省科技進步獎三等獎1項、新疆和田地區科技特等獎1項，并獲得2001年度中國藥學發展獎－地奧藥學科學技術獎（中藥獎）三等獎、2002年度茅以升科技教育獎－北京青年科技獎等榮譽獎。發表科研論文300餘篇，其中SCI收載100多篇，著作9部，申請和授權專利30多項。
榮譽成就
肉苁蓉屬藥用植物化學成分、生物活性和質量控制研究，國家教育部推薦國家自然科學獎一等獎，2004年度，第一完成人。
威靈仙等5種常用中藥化學成分和質量标準示範性研究，中華中醫藥學會李時珍醫藥創新獎，2007年度(008.1)，第一完成人。
勁酒指紋圖譜研究，湖北省科技進步獎三等獎，2007年度，第四完成人。
中藥肉苁蓉的栽培、加工技術研究與應用，教育部高等學校優秀科技成果獎科技進步獎一等獎，2008年度，第一完成人。
在2016年8月9日于香港浸會大學舉辦的中醫藥規範研究學會第五屆年會（GP-TCM）上，北京大學藥學院天然藥物學系屠鵬飛教授獲得世界中醫藥學會聯合會頒發的“中藥分析與标準傑出貢獻獎”，表彰其在中藥分析領域的學術成就，特别是為推動中藥标準制定和産業發展所做出的傑出貢獻。
2016年10月，獲全國脫貧攻堅獎創新獎。
